About this funding
LOCAL ONLY — Illinois Only. This scholarship offers up to $500 to support a middle school student in grades 6-8 in advanced talent development opportunities. It is intended to enhance or strengthen a creative or academic interest through an advanced talent-development experience, which could include summer camps, enrichment classes, mentoring, or independent projects. Financial need is a consideration for applicants. The scholarship funds are to be used for an opportunity between March and December of 2027.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be a student in Illinois.
Applicants must be currently in grades 6 - 8.
Applicants must have a passion to participate in an advanced, enrichment, or talent development opportunity during 2027.
How to apply
Applicants must complete a Google Form application, which can be done by the student, parent/guardian, or both. The application requires a statement describing the intended purpose of the scholarship funds, a statement of financial need, and any optional supporting examples. Applicants must also attach and submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor, and an example of a previous project, schoolwork, or presentation related to their talent or aspirations.
