About this opportunity
The Special Projects and Philanthropy Committee provides limited funds to help eligible members attend the 2027 Winter Meeting. Awardees may receive up to $500 to support travel expenses. Applicants must be registered for the Winter Meeting and provide proof of staying at the conference hotel. Checks are mailed 6 to 8 weeks after AAPT receives recipient contact information and a current W-9 form. Funding is primarily for travel support. Eligibility: AAPT professional and student members who are registered for the winter meeting are eligible for travel grants. National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) and National Society of Hispanic Physicists (NSHP) members are eligible for registration grants with consideration given to AAPT members. Post-secondary, K-12 educators, and students who have secured other support to fully fund the expenses for attending the meeting are not eligible for travel grants. Section Representatives, Area Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs, and other committee chairs and members are not eligible for a travel grant if they are receiving funding from AAPT to attend the meeting.
