About this opportunity

LOCAL ONLY — Illinois Only — Grades 1-5. The IAGC Elementary Excellence Scholarship provides up to $500 to support students in grades 1 through 5 in an academic or talent development endeavor. The award is intended to connect aspiring young students with opportunities to explore enrichment or talent-development activities, such as summer camps, enrichment classes, tutoring, mentoring, or special materials. Financial need is a consideration for applicants, and the opportunity for talent development must occur between March and December of 2027. Eligibility: Applicants must be a student in Illinois. Applicants must be currently enrolled in grades 1 - 5. Applicants must have a passion to participate in an advanced, enrichment, or talent development opportunity during 2027.

How to apply

Applicants must complete a Google Form application, which can be done by the student, parent/guardian, or both. The application requires a statement (100-300 words) describing the intended purpose of the scholarship and a statement of financial need. Additionally, applicants must attach and submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor and an example of previous work, progress, or innovation related to their talent or aspirations.
