The NSHSS Your First Scholarship is designed to help students learn the scholarship application process and build a 'toolbox' for future academic and professional endeavors. Participants will receive tips and tricks for scholarship applications. Ten awards of $500 each are available to students who complete the process. This scholarship focuses on making the competitive scholarship landscape more accessible for new applicants. Eligibility: Students graduating high school in 2026, 2027, 2028, or 2029 Applicants must have never before won a scholarship

How to apply
Applicants must submit an educator recommendation letter, a personal statement of no more than 500 words on their biggest strength and future aspirations, and an academic resume. Optional submissions include pictures/videos/media showing leadership in action. A color headshot suitable for website posting and a current transcript (official or unofficial) are also required. Applications are submitted via the 'Apply now' link.
